Schellman does it again. I absolutely love her writing style and world building. I'm also really enjoying how her stories are more than just mysteries. The writing draws you in and I find so much enjoyment in learning more about the characters and their lives. This book felt like it's underlying purpose was building the story for what's to come and it was done beautifully. Very much looking forward to the next installment.

This book was so well written and was so much more than just a mystery. You can clearly tell the author did her research on the 20s and she describes the world beautifully. The characters are wonderful as well. I love the MCs relationship with her sister and I love the way she interacts with everyone from thr Nightingale. Vivian has some glorious girl boss moments which I am here for and the ending was *chefs kiss*. The was enthralled the entire time reading and am excited to read the next book in the series.

Cute little book that can't help but make you smile.
Also, you can never go wrong with a frog wearing heels.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. I liked how they focused on the shades of grey rather than making everything black and white - good vs evil. It was also an interesting spin on an "evil king/prince". Very excited to start book 2!

I liked this book a lot. I thought it was a really interesting way to do an enemies to lovers story. The characters were also written in a very dynamic interesting way. I'd put spice at maybe a 2.5. Overall, I really liked it ❤️

So good! The pacing was perfect and the book had a really good balance of dark themes and funny moments. Had to stop some giggles a few times since I was in public and nearly cried at one point. Also, can we just take a second to recognize how cute Misery's love of peanut butter is.

I really like the concept of this book. I think it's a super creative take on fae stories - from an academic lense. Pace was a little slow for me but Emily and Wendell are adorable and I always love a socially awkward main character.

I really enjoyed how this book take an academic approach to classic fae stories. Also Wendell's nickname for Emily, my dear dragon, is so cute.
