I read this book as part of my book club before meeting Grace (who is the most amazing person BTW).

I absolutely loved it. The masked band .... well let's just say it's now my thing.

I felt a little let down towards the end, it felt very quick.... but that may have just been because i didn't want it to end.

I enjoyed the premise, and the writing was fun and engaging and went into just enough depth to cover the sensitive background the FMC came from.

Grace McGinty is a new auto read author for me!
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson

"The desire for more positive experience is itself a negative experience. And, paradoxically, the acceptance of one’s negative experience is itself a positive experience."

Rather than being about the fact that you shouldn't give a f*ck, this book talked about why it was important to actually give a f*ck but only in the correct context.

Rather than trying to motivate you to do better in life, The author talked about ways to be happy with your life as it is. It was a great reminder that you shouldn't care what other people think because ultimately it is your life. And you can choose who and when to give f*ucks out to.

This is YOUR life. Do what YOU want!

THIS BOOK was my undoing.... and I thought SHATTER ME was great!
Unravel me blew shatter me out of the ballpark.

So many people complain about Juliette and say all she does is whine and complain about herself, but how many people can say they wouldn't do the same thing in such a screwed-up situation.

She survived almost a year in total isolation... and people say she is weak. She is Strong, she sees herself as a monster and wants to keep others safe from her!!

Also Adam can eat a Bullet at this point in a very un passive aggressive way.
Adam needs to grow up, Yes he was there for Juliette when she needed it. She needed him to learn that she was human, but now he is just trying to hold onto the past.

Warner on the other hand is the most amazing psycho. And I love his relationship with Juliette, I love that he takes the time to learn about HER and she learns who HE is. They don't just use physical touch the whole book.

P.s Kenji Kishimoto is a full-on mood and can never do any wrong.

This was my favorite series in High School, so I wanted to reread, and I am not disappointed.

I know the writing style will NOT be for everyone. But I loved how it was written to feel like the reader was in her head. The metaphors repeated phrases and crossed out words felt like how my own brain works each day.
I also enjoy how the writing style evolves throughout the book as Juliette grows.

I have a love hate relationship with Adam, partly because it's a re-read but partly because I just feel like he coddles Juliette more than she needs. And Warner, well warner is going to be the love of my life, even though I permanently want to stab him throughout this book. I feel like he is trying in his own screwed up way.

A gift on my high school graduation from my English teacher... something I will always treasure.
Whenever I feel lost with what I want to do in my life I give this a re-read.

Certain parts will stay with you forever and will be something you can quote in fun and in sincerity when thinking about what to do.

It's books like this that help children figure out that reading is not just educational, it's fun.

Please, if you haven't read it, pick it up and give it a go.

I was confused to start with and it seemed a little chunky in places. But after about the 25-35% mark I was onboard for the ride.

There was a lot of great worldbuilding and I could picture everything. however at times there seemed to be almost too much that it took away from the plot a little.

Elodie did my head in a little with her constant inability to make a decision but for all the heartbreak she was feeling it was to be expected a little and I felt for her.

Also a certain death ripped out my heartstrings and left them sitting in a gutter (I may never recover).

This was the cutest and funniest quick read. I giggled the whole time. Definitely a great little palette cleanser between books. It's perfect for a laugh and teaches a valuable lesson about life while exploring each of the characters unique grievances.
Or a great read to kids as well.
