Never has a Star Wars book made me laugh so hard and so often! Daniel José Older and Alyssa Wong really knocked this one out of the park. I was laughing one minute and wanting to jump into the pages to parent and hug these younglings the next. Zyle is such a character, I love them so dearly. And it was amazing to have Ram back and see what he’s been up to!
This is my favorite Star Wars book since Phase 2 (and everyone knows that’s high praise coming from me!)

Lourna Dee is that bitch, and I love her for it. I love a deep character backstory like this and how it ties into her current situation.

I have no idea how anyone waited any length of time between The Mark of Athena and The House of Hades. That year wait? I want to go back and read fan theories and fan fiction from that era so bad.
I want to take all of Leo Valdez’s pain away, I love him.

“History changes course when people realize there is an alternative to blind obedience.”
Wow. Never before has a book sent me into a spiral of emotions like this one did. I picked this up due to a hyperfixation on the Cold War, and was immediately hooked on the author’s words. Now that I know more about Operation Ajax, I find myself determined to learn more about similar topics.
I do think you’d need a brief overview on the events before picking this up. Knowing about the Marshall Plan and generally about the Truman Doctrine were helpful.
