Not my favorite translation and wouldn’t recommend as first time read for Beowulf. HOWEVER, if you want to reread Beowulf and want a very different tone, this one is hilarious. Words like daddy get used as verbs and there’s a whole lot of “Bro!” usage.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 16%.
I think the humor isn’t landing on me the same way Discworld used to land. Unfortunately, it’s feeling more like a chore than an adventure to read.

Too didactic and boring prose.
