How Yoga Works: An Introduction to Somatic Yoga by Eleanor Criswell
2.0
I really wanted to enjoy this book. It just wasn’t for me.
• Asana suggested and instructions were not accessible for lots of people.
• Guru talk makes me uncomfortable.
• Psychophysiology of Yoga section read like a medical textbook. So far over my head.
• Counting and chanting are also not for me.
• Kundalini and paranormal abilities that come from meditation and yoga make me 🙄.
• The chapter intro quotes from students were my favorite parts.

Yoga and Eating Disorders: Ancient Healing for Modern Illness by

Suggested reading for Yoga and Trauma training. This was my favorite of all suggested texts. Collection of articles provided a well-rounded resource. Made me think about my role/place in the movement of combining yoga and mental health resources. I will keep coming back to this one.
