An Accidental Faerie Tale by Kara M. Zone
4.0
eeekkk...if the novella was this good I can't wait to read book 1!
Finding your fated mate enhances your magic? Your fated mate is your best friends twin brother!? Poison puts you in a magical coma trapped in your childhood memories?
I loved this story! To my understanding it's side characters getting their own story and if side characters have this much going on then I can't wait to get to the main characters!
Luckily I don't have to wait, I was lucky enough to snag an ARC of book 1, Cinders Burn at Midnight...which I'm diving into right now!

As always, thanks to Boldwood Books for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC!
I love a period piece! It's my life mission to watch and read them all. This story had great "bones". The plot was great. I was excited to dive into the story...but in the end, all it was was good "bones" with no meat and saggy skin. The story was equivalent to a Victorian Hallmark Spanish novela. Overly dramatic and cheesy. I was laughing when I should have been swooning.

As always, thanks to SOURCEBOOKS Landmark for the opportunity to read this ARC!
This was my first Susanna Kearsley book but it most definitely won't be my last! I ate this book up and couldn't put it down. What a fantastic first book of the year! I definitely added to my book boyfriend list. Andrew has my whole heart!
A prince was murdered and the King sends one of his messengers to find a person of interest and bring him back to the palace for questioning. The messenger finds himself with unexpected and surprising companions that turn this task into an adventure of the heart and mind.

...there is no way this is only a duology!? There is so much story left to tell! AND I NEED TO KNOW IT ALL!
I need a prequel, spin offs and an illustrated edition of the duology.
If this duology is on your TBR, move it to the top! The first book will hook you with the story and the second book keeps with the story and then blaps you in the face with some spice!
Gray, the MMC, is going to live rent free in my head for a long time.

As always, thanks to Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC!
Historical Regency Fiction is always such a vibe. These books keep me going until a new season of Bridgerton comes around.
This was a cute story. The characters had great personalities and could banter so well. The MMC, Jasper, had so much great depth to him. But the story was way too long. The slow burn burned way to slow. The story was drawn out entirely too much in the middle, too much inner monologue. I skimmed chapters because it just became repetitive. And then the end felt rushed instead of giving us more action that could of enhanced the mystery and give the "ah ha" moment more value.

This modern phantom of the opera retelling had me in a chokehold from the start. My heart is still pounding fast after finishing this 5 minutes ago. There was no fluff, nothing was drawn out and everything was meticulously placed from start to finish.
The spicy scenes weren't cringe like I find alot of times in books. No ick terms used when describing what was happening during the scenes.
This has been one of my favorite reads of 2024 without a doubt! This book published January 14th, mark your calendars book besties and snag it on release day!

Trial of Bronze and Blood: A Fantasy Romance Novel by M.K. Deoradhán

Four deadly trials will reunite them. One secret will tear them apart.
...and that secret...oooohhhh weeeeeee it's a doozy!
Dagger throwing FMC...magic...dragons...gladiators...political intrigue
This was an incredibly captivating gladiator romantasy. There were so many plot points happening at the same time that kept me sucked in and flipping pages so fast! This was a solid final read of 2024!
This publishes April 15th! I don't know how long I have to wait til book 2 but I need it right now right now!

This publishes January 9th and will be on Kindle Unlimited. This is a must read to start the year!
Princess turns spy...infiltrates her marks group...falls in love with her mark...continues to feed information back to the palace about a potential rebel uprising...secrets unfold...is she on the right side of the impending war?
This book was fantastic! It felt like a 250pg read not a 450pg read. I got to the end and I was like...wait...no...it can't end this soon. I don't even know how long I have to wait for the second book in this duology but I'm already fiending for it! I NEED TO KNOW HOW IT ENDS!

This was a cute novella to get us introduced to this world. This almost felt like it could be a beauty and the beast retelling.
The first book in the trilogy comes out in March. I'm excited to get into the thick of things with that story and hopefully get some resolution to a couple things from this story.

To Shatter the Night by Katherine Quinn

A better ending couldn't have been written for this story. All of the lore in the book was even better than the first. Seeing everything tie together was so satisfying. The continued banter between the MCs was perfection. The world seems so large that I could see a spinoff happening and it being a good read also. I do feel that the book was a smidge too long. There are easily some parts that could have been omitted and not left holes. The twist was like "sure, I guess I could see that" but not really as impactful as anticipated. However this was still a legit wrap up to the series.
