I found this book to be negative and depressing. Not for everyone.

I didn't like the character's voice at first, but she's such a good writer and very funny, you're drawn in. Love the symmetry of the writing and its multiple meanings.

Makes me want to go to an ashram in India and meditate.

Read it in three days!

Really liked this book overall, but took me a while to get into it. And don't you want to call it "Like [b:Water for Elephants|43641|Water for Elephants|Sara Gruen|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1170161179s/43641.jpg|3441236]"!

couldn't put it down. Deeply disturbing, funny, poignant, compelling. If you think your own family is dysfunctional, makes you appreciate how good you have it....

Good but not great. Provoked heated discussion at our book club!
