The world-building is good; not too heavy but descriptive enough to give you a very good idea of the universe. The characters are well-written and you can love/dislike them as they are. The plot doesn't drag but is given a little bit on the sparse side; it's a quick wrap-up but is satisfying enough that if you didn't want to continue with the rest of the series you probably could read this as a stand-alone book.

A really good take on the haunted house trope. The characters are funny, relatable, and lovable. The pacing is good; it's a steady build up to the main event that delivers. A very enjoyable horror story that has the right amount of comedy sprinkled throughout for a great modern approach to the haunted house.

The concept seemed interesting going and the introduction was engaging but didn't follow through. The plot/later twists, character development, and overall ending theme/message was very generic and typical; all not as impactful as it was trying to build up to an anticlimactic ending. The afterword written by the author came across as trying to defend his reasoning for including certain demographic characters that did not hit its mark. The result for the characters written were flat and provided little to no reason to the overall story. Author admitted to hesitation of including characters but decided to write them how they saw fit anyway.

The narrator read most dialogue as if all characters were speak-shouting and had an interesting quality of tone control that broke immersion often. The main female voice was made too whiny and the main male voice too condescending.

It's a slow listen. Not too much happens until the very end. A good listen while you're busy doing something else and not too much will be missed if you zone in and out. Overall, still a good story with a good ending.

A very good twist on typical fairy tale tropes. The writing style is descriptive enough without getting in its own way; straightforward. The characters are relatable and endearing. The plot, for a fairy tale, is clean and follows through. A quick read if you sit yourself down for it.

The story and format work well for an audiobook. The narrators spoke clearly; character voices did not distract from enjoying the story and performance. A good 'found footage' scary story. Takes a bit to pick up pace and most of the action happens at the very end.

A decent enough starting point for those in an office setting that are looking for a self-development read to make themselves feel better. Not very groundbreaking in terms of life lessons and how to go about managing things; mostly reinforces current ideas of how the workplace should run regarding company changes. A very simplistic and generalized approach to the target topic. You still can get something out of this; mostly though if you're already subscribed to the sales-pitch that it is throwing.

Creepy and tense. Author did a good job of creating anxiety-filled moments and utilizing a character that has anxiety. A good haunted house story. Has the same vibes as Stephen King's Castle Rock television series.
