Blue Eagle is an absolute treat for me as it is a perfect blend of thriller and romance. this is a story of two people who resides in different countries.
Neil Randhawa from Italy visited India with a wine bottle worth 3.75 crores, and it got stolen. Moe Somani from Myanmar lost her certificates. Their path crossed in the police station in an unpredictable situation and slowly a love story starts.
The plot is strong and holds a lot more than romance. I feel it holds the themes of loss, retrieval, sorrow, and hope. The character buildup is so beautifully done by the author. I am impressed by Neil’s character and want a friend like him in my life. I love how beautifully the author gives proper space to side characters, each holds a specific place in the story.
Overall it is a must-read book.

The partition of India into two countries; India and Pakistan, caused one of the most massive human tremors in history and present.
“Hindu Refugee Camp Lahore” by “Sachin Garg” is a reflection of “What was partition meant to achieve and what it actually achieves?”
The book is based on the true story of “Gula Ali limb fitter”, who was a renowned officer in the British Indian Army. When the partition took place military personnel were asked to choose which country they would serve India or Pakistan? Gulam Ali choose India and paid dearly. But the massive displacement during 1947 shook Gulam Ali’s life. Pakistan branded him a traitor and India denied the Muslim soldier citizenship. He lost his identity in a jiff. After 10 years he was dumped in a Hindu Refugee camp in Lahore. And then starts a struggle of an ordinary man to fight for his identity, love, and family.
This book gave me emotional turmoil and shook my beliefs. We read in our history books that the partition took place in 1947 and ended in the same year. But this book reflects the truth that the event continues to shape thousands of life even today. Through the characters of this book, I feel the pain of ordinary people at the center of this crucial event.
Coming to writing and narration style Sachin narrates the whole book in the form of letters of Gulam Ali and Zahira Raza (love of her life). The conversation and detailed narration made me feel like I am next to them and reading the letters. the author thoughtfully wrote a plot that shows the real picture of our society: full of deception, injustice, hypocrisy, religious enmity, and cruelty. But at the same time through strongly crafted characters I witnessed the positive vibes: the resilience of the human spirit, true love, friendship, humanity, and power of individual courage.
I like Nani’s character in the story, she was bitter when needed and supportive in unexpected situations. Her storytelling style just took my heart away.
Overall, this is a book that reflects the underside of partition history through the story of an ordinary man. I would highly recommend this book to everyone.
What is mythology? Mythology is a collection of myths or stories about culture, religion, and beliefs. The stories in mythology allow expanding the imagination. And this book is kind of one.
I am a big fan of the simple yet influential writing style of Sudha Murthy. I read many books about her, and every book holds a different charm.
About the book:
This is a book that holds the stories of 24 powerful women of our mythology, How, they sacrifice and fight to save humankind from the evils. The stories are about different forms of Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Parvati and many unheard names from the mythology.
My musings:
I just love the whole book. listing some which I liked the most:
1. There are many lessons hidden in between these simple stories which we should follow in daily life like how reacting without thinking in anger can cause bad consequences (Shankrahrya curse). We should think twice when we speak I anger or in adverse situations.
2. The writing style is simple and straightforward.
3. For me, this is a good learning book, as I learned many lesser-known stories about our mythology.
4. The beautiful art illustrations make this read interactive.
Overall, this is a magical book to read.
About the book:
This is a feel-good, and action-packed book I read after a long time. The story is set in two parallel times, 535 CE when the earth started its formation and in the present pandemic situation where the earth is suffering from many political and selfish reasons. There is a which have to be in a safe place. To know how the centuries connected with the present to save this arrow, grab your copy.
My musings:
AgniBaan is a stupendous, yarn that features a tapestry filled with an eclectic cast of characters and worlds as exciting as they are dangerous. The characters are created with deep and complex layers. You will find a strong protagonist as well as strong antagonists.
Venkatesh creates a world that is exciting and fills the narrative with hints of mythology and history. The plot structure is perfect with many exciting surprise elements. I have a vibe of Dan Brown books from this read.
Final Verdict:
AgniBaan is an action-packed book with great writing, a fine narrative voice, and memorable characters.

The Jamun tree and other stories is a delightful collection of short stories by Richa Gupta.
There are nineteen stories in a book with an array of themes connected with one string change in an individual’s life. I know it is difficult to incorporate the same theme with different stories, but the author does amazing work with this book. All the stories are allowing readers to make an easier transition into the minds of the characters. Some of my favorite from the collection are:
1. The Jamun Tree
2. The Discovery
3. Perspective
4. Another chance at love
The writing style and narration are simple and interesting which makes each story realistic and connected. I must say this book is sure to have something to capture your interest. I just find a little bit of lack of connection with characters, but I think it’s a short storybook and it doesn’t allow to describe the characters deeply. Apart from this, it is a feel-good, short read to take you out of the reading slump.

When you heard a piece of murder news, what picture of a murderer came into your mind? A common description is most likely a wide eye manic with a blood-drenched knife. Right? But sometimes the evilest face is like a goddess with beautiful eyes and hair.
Death served cold by Sourabh Mukherjee is a collection of seven real gruesome murders by women. All the stories cover the dark psyche of a woman. There are many reasons for love, greed, lust, and habit to commit this heinous crime. But I like the way the author explains what situations ignite this motive like over possessiveness, jealousy mental issues, etc.
This language and narration are good you will feel like watching a crime show. I just feel the stories are rushed through and the suspense element gets faded in it. apart from this is a well-researched book with authentic references given by the author.
I will recommend this book who love to read real crime stories.

Asur Kanya and her route to unrequited love by Maneesha Agarwal is an Indian mythological fiction tempered with romance.
This was the story of Ira daughter of Asur king. She went on a quest in search of her feelings, emotions, and love. In her journey, she met with Manu king of Manvas. Manu was the most desirable being on earth and Ira falls for him. But her love was not reciprocated by him. she got disheartened, and the whole story is based on the wrong decision, their repercussion, regret, and sympathy.
I found the story fast-paced with vivid narration. There is a lot of knowledge about early civilization and human evaluation. The language is easy and smooth. Overall, this is a short and nice read to pick.

Brahma Rakshas by Sandiip N. Paatil is a story of an 11-year-old boy Sarja whose life is turned upside down by some turbulent and scary dreams with the tendency to come true. He stays in a village with her mother Geeta. His father is a thief, he doesn’t rob the villagers but also Sarja’s and her mother's dignity. His life is not easy, something is happening that is making it even more difficult. He has a bully in school, a burden to gain respect for him and his mother, and a fight with a monster. Yeah, you heard it right monster “The Brahma Rakshas. Who is Brahma Rakshas? How will he defeat him?
Sandiip does a brilliant job in writing this short novel. The element of mystery is great and very well developed. I loved the way Sarja is resilient and determined to find a solution to his dreams and everything that was happening around him. The charm of the book is the theme, which portrays how an individual becomes a victim of the inherent nature of human evil, jealousy, anger, and insecurities. I love the true friendship of Sarja and Meena.
Overall, this is a must-read, especially for children and teens.

#Qotd Is God Human?
There is an old saying in Sanskrit “Devo Manushaya Rupena.” It means God is within human and live in this world in the form of a human to uplift our souls.
“God is a person” is a unique and optimistic read to understand God's existence scientifically. Spirituality and Science both are parallel lines. This book is in the form of dialogues or says conversation of author Dr. T. D. Singh with two noble prize winner scientists “Charles H. Townes” inventor of Laser and Maser and “William D. Phillips” the pioneer of Laser cooling of atoms.
Both give the scientific dimension to the existence of God. This book gave me a unique experience, the wisdom and personal experience with God of two great scientists amazed me a lot. The statements given by two scientists make this read interesting. Quoting a statement below:
“I don’t think people recognize how much we use instincts in science. We use assumptions, or we might call those postulates, which are identical to faith. ...postulates are simply faith. And faith in science is important. ...We have this faith and from that, we make conclusions. Both science and religion have this characteristic. —Townes
Overall, this is an interesting and unique read and recommended to all to understand the relation between science and God.
