The Cabin at the End of the World was so good!! It started off super creepy, thought it was going to be a home invasion type of story but that changed immediately after the first few chapters. I finished the book with more questions than answers, but honestly, it's more fun that way giving things to speculate about after reading.

Most of the stories in this collection were really fun to read. I loved the supernatural elements in The Great Awake and Cassandra After as well as Mantis and Formerly Feral for stories on puberty. A few of the stories in the collection weren't as interesting but I loved the majority of them.

This was such an interesting book to read. From the beginning, it started slow because of how negative Mary's perspective was, which was completely understandable considering her circumstances. But after the first 100ish pages the story got really crazy with all the cult stuff. Poor Nancy.

I love everything about this book! I liked how the story was told in split perspectives, how mysterious what happened in the submarine was, how Miri dealt with her grievances, and all the interesting little ocean/animal facts thrown throughout the book. It was such a nice read!

The Husband Stitch, Eight Bites, and Inventory were my favorite stories in this collection. The rest of the stories are good but they won't stick with me as much as the others will. I'm not sure how to feel about Especially Heinous, maybe it is more interesting for people who know Law and Order. The format of how the story was told was interesting but confusing.

There are so many questionable things in this book. The story was wonderful though and very tense, once the story started to pick up it was hard to put down. The racism in the book and the weird sexual instances were so random though. While the racism could be explained as another way that the hotel was evil, it feels unnecessary.
