Definitely in-between on this one. Some of the stories were absolutely brilliant… and some were not. Loved the queer aspect of all of them, of course, but some missed out the gothic portion. A spooky mansion or a ghost doesn’t necessarily make something gothic, you know? Nevertheless, I definitely enjoyed this anthology, and I can’t wait to read its companion novel, Unthinkable!

Oh, and as a bonus, my favorite stories were An Account of Service at Meryll Point, The White Door, Doctor Barlowe’s Mirror, The Moon in the Glass, and Brideprice.

This was a fun one! Spooky, steamy, and sweet, it was a solid novella! However, I definitely think it had some tonal issues, and I didn't love the ending. 2.5/5!
