First half of the book--5/5, beautiful, stunning, heartbreaking, poetic, I highlighted so many things.
Second half of the book--2/5. Writing still gorgeous, but just was not expecting that deviation from the story and felt confused and then a lack of interest.
I love a ghost story, but I was not expecting the protagonist to die halfway through the book and then narrate the story as a legitimate ghost. If I had been prepared for that going in, I think I would have liked the turn in the story a lot more.
