When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon
4.0
I enjoyed myself throughout the whole thing... Dimple and Rishi are so lovable.
I just... was so happy about the fact that through the WHOLE book everything was fluffy. No awkward miscommunication that gets blown oiut of proportion, no dumb drama. It healed my soul.

Illuminae by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff

I read it last year so my memory is already not that great anymore - but I know I loved it.
The formatting was so much fun, the art, the unique way of storytelling. AIDAN. Loved it.
But, on the other hand... the protagonists were so bland. Their ~feelings~, more like. I don't c a r e. And also it was confusing. They'd talk about characters and I couldn't even recall who they were, even though I was binge-reading it in one sitting...

Champion of the Scarlet Wolf: Book one by Ginn Hale

I didn't like it quite as much as the books before - but I just cannot deny hat Ginn Hale is an inredibly good writer. She's always satisfying my itching needs for gay romance that's not mainly about said romance. Bless her.
Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch

Urban Fantasy done right. I can't complain about anything, really. One star off because I wasn't IN the universe and because I've never been to London so I simply don't know anything about all those little anecdotes.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
It is certainly... peculiar. I loved the way the photos were used - and found myself spooked more often than not. It was unique and I love unique books, and as I read it at work I always dreaded the end of my break.
I have adopted Millard, what can you do?

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I'd say: Excellent. The start was pretty slow for me but as soon as we got into the story more and all the actors were in place I couldn't put it away anymore.
I quickly adopted Adam as my own foster son and I need him to be happy. Noah too, but mostly Adam.
I screamed a little in my mouth at the end, it was gruesome in a way, and my sweet pumpkin did not deserve any of what he got.
Gansey better get some nice development in the next books. He was, as the main love interest, boring, bland, and unnecessary. Let him shine and maybe I will change my opiniln but for now I am mad he and not Adam will get the girl ~because magic~.

The Conjurer Princess by Vivian Vande Velde

Exactly what I've been expecting of this wonderful author - a short novel with handsome boys, and an incompetent (read: relatable) protagonist.
No, I really like the easy writing style, the jokes, the characters. It's not deep, it's not even a particularly good story, not original or anything. But it's entertaining and that's all I want.
I'm extremely mad about Shile though.
