”Let time stay still forever”

This was a fun jinn fairytale, it was unique but also familiar. I liked Emel and Saalim and the plot but it was missing something that made it…good? Like, it was okay and I enjoyed it, but eh.

“Though I am a jinni who fulfills desires, I am first a man. Like all, I am selfish, and I have shamelessly allowed myself to fulfill my own wish. Being with you is my greatest want. I ache with hunger, Emel. I yearn for you.”

I would die for Ezra, just so you know.

Hot, tattoed priests. Much gay. Very demon.

"You don't get to take credit," I yell. "You did not make me stronger. This trauma didn't make me stronger. I was already strong." I take another step and my magic unfurls in smoking red tendrils. "All you've done is make me angry."

Love a good rage-filled fantasy 💃

I feel like I always zone out (audiobook) during the important parts and then I am clueless when reveals happen.

Or was it just a lot of reveals and I'm still clueless?

Update: lol I just went back and physically read the last few chapters and I think I just zoned out in the audiobook 😂 I cried a few times😭
