I absolutely adored Love & Other Words, it actually made me cry, Macy’s life had so much heartbreak and devastation in it, I couldn’t help but cry for her.

I adore this book so much, They Both Die At The End shows you that you should live everyday they way you’ve always wanted because you never know if it’ll be your last. In Mateo & Rufus’s case they do know because of Death Cast, the title of the book is very literal in that sense. They really do die at the end.

I absolutely loved reading Verity, it was an amazing book to read from start to finish. I will admit this is my second time picking it up but it never fails to give me the creeps. The lengths that Verity went to, the manuscript, it was all just so much! The plot was full and detailed, exactly what I’d want from a thriller.

I will admit that I’m personally team manuscript, I can’t believe that someone who didn’t do those things could write about them like that with such detail. I felt physically sick at some points. Particularly when she described trying to abort her children.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Lowen getting close and having sex with Jeremy, especially since he was still married regardless of what Verity did or didn’t do.

I don’t really have any criticisms of Verity though, one of my favourite books of all time for sure. A 5/5 without a doubt.
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Hobbit is an amazing book to read if you love fantasy, or even if you’re just getting into it. Tolkien creates a layered believable world throughout the book, with descriptions of scenery, species and history of Middle Earth.

While reading I became really attached to the characters especially Bilbo whose journey from a homebody to an adventurer was amazing to watch! He really began to shine the further into the book we went. From saving the dwarves from the giant spiders in Mirkwood, to fighting in the battle at the end of the book.

I can’t wait until I read Lord of The Rings if it’s anything like The Hobbit. With such developed characters and a vibrant world it’s enough to keep anyone hooked if you enjoy Tolkien’s style of writing. I can say for myself that I loved it, but others may not. But please find out for yourself and give it a read!

What in the actual fuck have I just read? Woom was so disturbing, so fucking weird that I can’t stop thinking about it. I wouldn’t recommend this book to ANYONE. The triggers alone, they’re probably half of the ones that turn people away from books!

Angel inserting his head into Shyla’s vagina just, that’s so fucked up? I was so uncomfortable and disturbed by him doing this, by far the worst part of the book. I found it hard to rate this. I love horror and this book definitely scratched that itch, but at what cost? I’ll definitely be thinking about this book for a long time after reading.
The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley

The Hunting Party. A group of old friends on holiday in the remote Scottish Highlands for New Years. What could go wrong? Well apparently a lot can go wrong in this scenario, from being snowed in due to brutal weather conditions to murder among friends. Lucy Foley had me gripped from the start, I realised pretty early on that there was something wrong with this group of old friends, I just didn’t know what. From Emma “accidentally” booking Katie’s seat in a different coach to Miranda’s over eagerness with the pills and alcohol.

This group of friends seemed more frenemies than anything else. The only one who seemed constantly chipper is Emma who coincidentally planned the trip in the first place being as she called herself the “newbie” of the group by a decade. I did have some concerns about her further into the novel when Heather, the person in charge at the Highland retreat said that she appeared to be a budget Miranda. Down to the same hair shade it seemed a bit creepy as if she wanted to be her.

I actually believed it was probably Emma who killed Miranda but I also suspected Doug, I know it was what could be considered to be the easy target with his history but it seemed like it could’ve been him in all honesty.

I did of course find out it was Emma, who stalked Miranda and stole little momentos from her.

In the end she gets away with it pretty much due to being a psychopath.

After all of this though I really loved the novel, I loved the choice of setting, the descriptions of the area, the false sense of togetherness the characters had. It was all really great writing and I hope to enjoy more of Lucy’s novels in the future.

OKAY WHAT THE HELL? I loved this book so fucking much? If it wasn’t for the fact I have a set list of books to read this month I’d be straight into the second novel I can say that for a fact!

From Bryce, Danika and the Pack of Devils friendship even to the very end and beyond to Hunt and his horrifying past. This book had amazingly fleshed out characters and a beautifully detailed world. It even gave me tears quite a few times reading the end with Danika’s energy pushing Bryce on throughout her drop. It was amazing to read. I couldn’t get enough of it.

I’m honestly sad that I’m finished regardless of the length of the book it feels like it just wasn’t long enough for me! I wish it could’ve went on forever. What a beautifully written novel I don’t think I’ve loved a book this much in my life.
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

I won’t lie Gone Girl was an average book at best, not Gillian Flynn’s best but certainly not her worst novel. I liked the premise of Perfect Amy and Nick being targeted by the media. Very similar to real life cases like this. But I don’t know I guess I was bored? Yeah that’s the word bored.

It was so slow, annoyingly so. Sure I don’t mind slow books a lot of the time when they’re actually interesting. But this book just didn’t do it for me. Amy’s character was just annoying as hell and bland. Nick was better but not by much a lying dick of a man who cheated on his wife for a year thinking she didn’t know.

I gave it three stars genuinely because I enjoyed the premise, I just wish it had been easier to get into and not so topsy turvy with the diary.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I absolutely adored the first instalment of the Shadow & Bone trilogy. What an amazing book! Alina, a war orphan who grew up in a veteran’s estate with her friend Mal, discovers she has an amazing gift that could save the whole of Ravka. Or so the Darkling says.

I couldn’t believe that the Darkling would turn like that, it didn’t seem likely to happen even with the hints Alina received from Baghra and Genya. But the truth of it is Alina couldn’t be controlled because of her mercy! Such a lovely way to view it and such a lovely story. I can’t wait to read the second book!

The first instalment of A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones! What an amazing book, I absolutely loved this and I will continue to love this every time I decide to reread it. There’s just something about having multiple POVs in a book that keeps things interesting. It’s a creative way of writing.

Theres so much to love about this book and so little to hate about it. I can’t think of anything negative off the top of my head honestly. I have nothing but praise for GRRM and his writing skills.

I love pretty much all of the POVs in this book except Bran’s, I find his to be pretty slow and boring, still readable, but not as exciting as say, Daenerys or Arya.

I went into this book already knowing what happened, as I’ve reread it several times before, but it never fails to get my emotions running. From sadness due to Lady’s death, to anger for the way Viserys treated Dany.

GRRM’s writing makes you feel things and his worldbuilding is immense. There’s so much detail in every chapter, it feels as though the world is around you as you read. I’ve found that I don’t feel that way very often.
