It isn’t perfect, and a lot of the plot points drag or feel obvious when they seem to be meant to be surprising, but it is so so good.

The romance is not a major plot point, but it is great and important.
Jude is still one of my favorite characters ever and Cardan is up there.

But also a lot of judgement about birth control and way too much bloated/repeated content.
The author tries to use language that is not binary, which is great. However, female specific words are used in many parts, making me worry for people who thought they might be safe from it because of the promise made by the author at the beginning of the book.
