I actually really really enjoyed this, the beginning was so captivating, I couldn’t put the book down. When we got to the last 200 pages, the book did let me down. I thought that it was really too much, too crazy. The book was dragging on. Getting to maybe the last 50-80 pages when “the final fight” started, it was again to the high standards of most of the book, it was exciting and captivating.
I just couldn’t give this book five stars, because for me it isn’t, but overall a great, great book.

Okay, I loved Simon vs the homosapiens agenda. I loved it. It was so cute and fluffy and just perfect. So I went into Leah on the Offbeat expecting something similar. Safe to say, I didn’t really get what i bargained for.
To be honest, Leah isn’t the most sympathetic character ever created, and I just don’t really like when people cuss all that much. And this book was a mess. Not in a “the author fucked up” sense, but in a “what are these characters doing they should just get their shhhhh together”.
You might be wondering why I did give it four stars 🌟. The ending, if just saved it. The ending was actually what I had expected from the book in the beginning, it had all the lovely stuff. It was kind of clear from the beginning how this would end, but as some people like to say: It’s not about the destination, it’s about how you get there.
So yes, all in all, it was a great book. Great lgbt, poc, and fat girl representation. The only problem I actually have with the book is Leah on the beginning. She’s so pessimistic and everything, but that is just a personal issue.

The beginning was super slow, but the ending really saved it for me!
