I have no coherent thoughts yet I’m too busy crying over this
This book is so so special to me!! The ADHD rep has made me so emotional because I felt so seen as someone with ADHD who has struggled soooo hard with uni. Ruth’s inner monologue and struggles made me cry so many times because it just perfectly describes my experience. Ruth was a character I could really identify with, on top of the ADHD her struggles because of her food allergy’s and her insecurities because of that really resonated with my experience
I also really appreciated the demisexuality rep! I’m not demisexual so I can’t say too much on it but imo it was really well done
Besides those things which honestly really made the book so great for me, I think this book was so well done in general!! I loved the romance between Ruth and Rowan and their banter was amazing!
Rowan was such a thoughtful and loving mmc, I love him so much
This was also so funny!!

I love this story and the characters so much!! Damen and Laurent’s character and relationship development in this were amazing and I think the switch from enemies to lovers was really well done because it took the time it needed to properly develop
This could’ve easily been a five star read but I just don’t like the writing style. It felt way too fast at some points were I didn’t know how we got from one point to another in just two sentences. I couldn’t really imagine and see the story play out because the author never took the time to really describe what’s happening. And the writing just took me out of the story sometimes and also made it a bit hard for me to enjoy and read

The writing style isn’t 100% my cup of tea but I’m so invested in the story!!! I‘m immediately diving into the next book
Also from all the reviews I expected the worst and this to be so dark… I guess I’ve read enough dark romances in my life because this wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it was 💀 obviously still definitely look at the tw’s before reading and this is still quite dark and not for everyone (and honestly, if you’ve read the blurb it should be obvious that this isn’t all light and fluffy, one of the mmc’s is literally a slave) but I honestly expected so much worse lol
