I've read it a few times before and it's a perennial favorite, but decided to cancel the reread in favor of new things.

This and the preceding novel in the Lumatere Chronicles (Froi of the Exiles) are my absolute favorite found family duo. My review of the first novel in the series, Finnikin of the Rock, contains content warnings that are pertinent to this book and Froi of the Exiles as well.
