I read All Quiet on the Western Front a while ago and I am only just getting to reviewing this (whoops!). I still remember this book even though I read this months ago; it was an amazing book and gave a view into the life of a German soldier during the war giving an insight to the life of the soldier, his friends and the devestation of the war on not only himself, his family but also his friends and colleagues.

Towards the end of the book it got very heartwrenching to hear his inner thoughts and what he was feeling about the war as they realised they were going to lose and more and more lost their lives.

It was a really good book and I am very glad i read this book this year.

Now this book was so fricking cute!! There were so many moments of this book that were so sweet and warmed my soul - i will admit though Lucy did irritate me at points and i did feel like at times there wasn't much depth to the characters however it wasn't enough to put me off the book hence the four star rating

I read Rules between roomates last year from C.L Sharples and absolutely loved it! so this book I assumed would be just as good and heartwarming - I was incorrect. This book explored the relationship between Emily and Peter but it just didn't really draw me in like Rules between roomates did.

It was just a bit.....juvenille? It feels so harsh to say that and I hate using the word but to me that is how it came across. the story didn't have much depth, the characters were all annoying but the story was sweet which is why i gave it a three instead of a 2.

Don't let it put you off though as you may love the story, it just wasn't for me
