Daughter of Mine by Megan Miranda

I really enjoyed this overall. I enjoyed the mystery and I didn't guess the culprit until quite late in the story which was nice. I'm a character driven reader but I enjoyed the plot more in this than the characters. I didn't particularly like or dislike any of the characters really and got a little annoyed with the miscommunication between the sister and one of the brothers. I also got frustrated with the "how many days without rain" plus the "amount of precipitation" at the beginning of every chapter (but this is a minor thing and bothered me more when I was just listening to the audio). I started this just on audio as I was traveling, but then switched to immersive between the audio and e-arc. I found it much more enjoyable when immersive reading. The mystery was good as it was quite unique in that the mystery was 3 fold in that there was the missing people, the weird things from the lake, and the mystery of the mother and were the memories reliable etc. There were a couple of spooky ish moments but it was more of a mystery to me overall. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a thriller/mystery that isn't gory or paranormal.

This was ok. I listened on audio only and I think I would have been better to immersive read this one. I think I missed out on the subtle spooky vibes. That being said I liked the start of it and the spooky vibes from that, but I lost the vibes the further I got into the book.

The first third-half of this didn't get me as enthralled as the first book did. However, the second half got me addicted again. I love the way they worked together and although there was still some ethically grim choices made, it was a fun time and I am very much looking forward to the third book!

I enjoy this! I read it with my friend Donna and it was a fun time. I felt very seen by a lot of what the characters felt about themselves as a result of trauma from childhood. It was a nice balance between cute, fluffy romance with characters that had some depth to them.
