I love the characters but found the plot lulled towards the end. It felt like they were all running in circles and WHY could Lettle not decipher that incredibly obvious prophecy earlier? Yeeran’s romance felt rushed but Pila is a gem.

I’m really not a historical fiction gal but the fantasy elements blended in were enticing. Lots of politics/strategy but for me it was balanced with JUST enough character development and mythology that I wanted to keep reading. Definitely enjoyed Fódla’s chapters more than Gormflaith’s (booooo to her)
