There were some really good twists and turns in this. It also pushed you to contemplate how far technology will/should go. The ending felt a bit rushed for me. It seems like most of the book was concerned with creating a back story for the characters but when it got to the reveal it was kinda out of left field because there were no real hints in the backstory we got.  But still enjoyable.

It took me a while to get into this but once I did, I found myself really enjoying it. It’s definitely thought provoking; how far does a species have the right to go in the name of species preservation?, should the needs of the few ever be given more weight than the needs of the many,  and thus.

So much fun! The banter is witty and the characters are people I’d love to have a pint and a chat with. The who done it kept me guessing. And best of all is the found family. Highly recommend

A lovely return to the Cerulean Sea. An uplifting story about the fight to be who you are in the face of those who want to tell you who you ‘should’ be and put you in a box of their making. Loved it!

Once again another great literary mystery. I think Louise Penny handled the post-pandemic feelings masterfully, evoking that time without glorifying or over dramatizing it. She brings so much food for thought to each of her novels, allowing her readers to really pause and wonder, ‘what would I do in that situation?’  The mystery itself was well crafted; you were sure you knew who did it, but then, maybe not.  And always, I learn something, something I need to go look up because I was unaware of the event, person, place etc. Can’t wait for the next one!

Really enjoyed this. The banter is great, I laughed out loud many times. I also really liked the context of the ‘will they, won’t they’, it was believable and refreshing.

A fun reimagining of the little mermaid and the legendary women pirate Mary Reed.
