I found this to be a perfect length for me and loved the idea behind it! It kept me engaged, made me think and I never doubted who I was meant to be rooting for.
It did the ‘modern day, subtle magic’ perfectly, which I really appreciated.

I felt like it was missing something, hence the slightly lower rating- perhaps I wasn’t as invested in the main characters as I like to be- but I’d still definitely recommend!

I was unsure when starting this, though after a recommendation from a friend and a decision that the idea of a ‘Shamer’ sounded interesting, I gave it ago- and I’m so glad I did!!
If anything, I’m gutted I didn’t find this book in my young teen years as I’m sure I’d have loved it as much then, if not more.

The pacing was perfect for me, the characters likeable and who or who not to trust kept me on my toes. I loved the settings and narrative voice.

It kept me charmed by and invested in all the right characters and I loved learning about the world and characters alongside Dina.

It was the exact easy, charming read I’ve been after. I truly can’t wait to track down and read the rest of the series!
