I didn’t dislike this book I just think the placement in the series is interesting. I was not interested for probably the first 2/3 of the book then all of the action, character development, and emotion was packed into the back third. I am fully aware of the crucial info and development in this book I just don’t think it needed to be 660+ pages.
After literally getting the climax of the whole series at the end of Empire of Storms, I only wanted to find out what happened to Aelin. Like so cool everyone found a partner and they got an army but my girl had been locked up TAKE ME BACK.
If i could go back and do it again, I would definitely do the tandem style reading I’ve seen others recommend. Mostly so I wouldn’t have to endure the boring front portion while anxious about the end of Empire of Storms.

I just couldn't get into this book. The characters were introduced so quickly and not in an effective way. I felt I couldn't connect with any of them or distinguish between their perspectives. I just moved on from this book and cant get back into it
