A quick and enjoyable read, I like Newman's lucid style and the way she's drawn the main character. This book apparently just sets the stage for the series—doesn't really stand on it's own as a full story. Good enough to interest me in reading the next instalment, but I don't feel it warrants the price of a full novel.
