I liked the concept and the plot and think it has potential as a series but I struggled with the writing style.

1 - I think there needed to be more world building (but this may come over time as the series progresses)

2 - I was frustrated with the way chapters would end at a slight cliff hanger and then the next chapter would skip ahead in the timeline rather than being a continuation of what happened, as if the author didn’t know how to follow on from that moment so left it there?

3 - people will probably hate me for this but I wasn’t sold by the romance! I found Violet’s internal dialogue

towards Xaden

to be sooo cringey, the sex scenes were very unromantic, and overall it just felt like lust more than love (maybe it is… a lot can change over 4 more books!)

I’ll still be reading Iron Flame as like I said, I think the story has potential.
