A captivating, memorable read that will surely stay in my heart for a long time. Regardless of the actions and decisions of the main characters, I empathized with all of them, felt their pain as if it were my own. In each of them, there was something I have experienced or am going through, and that made me connect even more with them. My heart felt heavy with this ending.

Summarizing my reading notes, the book reminds me of a TV at a store showing 4k landscapes - beautiful, you can admire it.

Magical realism is integrated into the story in a way that makes it confusing, and the presentation of the timeline - I assume it's linear, but I couldn't identify it completely - also left something to be desired.

Despite everything, Andrea Del Fuego's writing transported me to Serra Negra, and I could clearly imagine the scenes and settings, the smell of coffee when Nico fell into the coffee maker (?!), the sound of the water reaching the valley. I recommend it only if you want a light read, without substantial expectations.

I found the reading quite challenging, even with the notes. The indigenous terms were unfamiliar to me and I had difficulty deepening my understanding of the poems, but 'ladeira da gamboa' positively surprised me."

Both the story and the appendix are fantastic. I went into it blindly — we picked a short book for our book club to kick things off. At first, I thought the book was amusing, but as the plot unfolded, I became completely immersed and moved. I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised!

Another work that confirms Pirandello as one of my favorite authors. The plot of the grave encounters in chapters 13 and 14 discouraged me a bit from reading, but I kept going. The only thing that was worth the entire chapter was the kiss that started the reflection that made him 'come back from the dead' for good.
