This book basically explores what it's like to be a closeted bisexual women of color trying to make it in old Hollywood, which is such an interesting and compelling perspective. Thi was such a good read overall.

This book deals with ugly and heavy topics but it's still a lot of fun to read - the premise of the plot is intruiging, the story is told in a way that makes it easy to follow the character's mindset, and it has a sense of underlying mystery. I think it's at its strongest when we dive into the story-within-a-story narrative and are given reason question the reliability of that narration (which could've been further explored, if you ask me).

We got a great insight into Bengali culture here, the message of never being ashamed of who you are when facing racism/homophobia, and to stand up for yourself and others. Also, there are so many other heavy issues that the book adresses through its coming out, bullying, and first love plots, and it does them all so, so well. The author's writing is also very compelling to read. Overall, the book just feels authentic and honest - which sounds generic but trust me, it's great!

I don't know what to add here because the book is already pretty popular (and definitely worth the hype), but you can just tell how much research and passion went into crafting this book. And it's so worth your time! An absolutely magnificent read. The writing style has me in complete awe - the words flow like poetry at times, it's almost lyrical in a way. Even if you don't know much about the Trojan War or Greek mythology, do pick up this book. I'm so glad I did.

My rating may have been swayed by the joy I felt of having an aspec main character, but it really is such a heartfelt story about mental health struggles and learning to put yourself first. The premise of the book immediately hooked me. The reason it's not 5 stars is because the book tries to cover too much ground and could've dropped some of its tropes, in my opinion. And although the characters are pretty diverse, I wished they would've embedded their cultural background more into the characters (Dev, for example).

Oh, this book was so much fun to read: It's got a heist set on the Titanic, it's focused on a diverse group of girls, their history, struggles and (forming) friendships, and it's a lesbian romance without a big queer struggle moment! The characters are well written but the writing can be a bit on these nose and a tad repetitive. That didn't bother me too much though because the plot moves very fast and we got a lot of characters to work with.

This book is the equivalent of someone wrapping you in a blanket and hugging you. It's just so wholesome and heartwarming.

I've never read a book starring an aroace character with the entire story being about their aroace identity before (which probably impacted my rating a lot). Reading this was very validating and affirming in many ways. Even if you're not on the aro or ace spectrum, I think everyone should give this a read because of its refreshing and inspiring outlook on attraction, love, and friendship.
