Each story was different, some quite unexpected, others delightfully twisted and confusing then ah-ha! If JT Lawrence comes out with another or has another book, I’ll definitely read it. I kept this on my nightstand and read one or two stories when I felt like it. They weren’t all groundbreaking, but they certainly drew me in so I kept wanting to read more and more.

Initially, I was pleased to be greeted with Thomas Harris’ familiar writing style and some of the lines were worth highlighting. I was quickly overwhelmed with keeping the plethora of characters straight… however, I fell in love with Cari and finished the book for her part in it. The story is very much driven by plot, but I found when the plot built to its most pivotal moments, it fell flat.

If you read Thomas Harris, this is short and I liked it, but it’s not his next greatest literary masterpiece.
