Mamo popped up on my Twitter timeline as one of the sapphic graphic novel recommendations and since I feel like I need to read something but doesn’t feel like continuing OVE now, so I thought, why don’t I give it a go? I fell in love with the art style especially the colors, it’s just soooo pretty. And the story itself is heartwarming to me. Mamo might suit those who’s trying to find a light sapphic graphic novel to read in one sitting!

I am so convinced that I muttered out a countless WTFs and anjir the whole time I read Yellowface because this book is just unbelievable.

Yellowface follows a story of June Hayward who stole a manuscript from her so called best friend. The book itself unfolds how ugly the world of publishing industry is. Yellowface might be a lil bit of uncomfortable to read for some people but for me, instead of uncomfortable feeling, I was filled with rage reading this. I wanna punch June’s face so, so bad.

Rapijali might be my next 5 stars trilogy.. who knows…… but i love the simplicity of the writing compared to other books written by indonesian authors. The simplicity is what makes it special. Looking forward to read the sequel tapi harus nunggu at the very least sebulan or my mom will kick me out of the house
