DNF (did not finish) at 38%.

I badly wanted to finish this book because the premise was interesting, but I could not get myself to read more than I already have.

To Get to the Other Side is about Trixie and Bear. Trixie stops in the middle of traffic to basically save a chicken who was hurt on the road. This is also where she meets Bear who helps her with this little escapade. Trixie decides to keep the hurt chicken because why not, I guess. But, oh yes, there's a but, her landlord doesn't allow animals and she's no exception to that rule. So, she has to find for another place to stay that also allows pets. In comes, Bear's sisters who meddle in his life and posted an ad for someone to rent the spare room. So, yeah, Bear agrees to let her stay and all that, yada yada.

That (the part where she saves the chicken) was interesting because who in the world would do that, especially considering this was in the middle of traffic with lots of angry people beeping at you. But it got boring so quickly.

This one's a simple summer beach type of book to read. It's possible to read this in one sitting, though I couldn't do it since I was a bit too busy with other stuff.

Anyway, I liked the book. I found Colten and Tess a bit annoying at times, but they somehow made up for it at the end.

I could watch the movie of this, but I can't—for the life of me—get past the 24th page of this book. I kept having to put the book down after every page because it made me fall asleep.

I'm sorry to say this, but I really didn't like this book. I had to force myself to finish this one, and even then I mostly skimmed through the book. Initially, I gave this a 2-star, but I sat on it and thought that I didn't even like it enough that it would garner 2 stars so I had to downgrade it to a 1-star.

All the characters were annoying. Yes, all of them. They were all so annoying. I really wanted to like Lucy, but I just couldn't. She was portrayed to be this strong and independent woman. That's great and all, but she was written in a way that she was insufferable and immature. Although I don't like Zack's character too, he wasn't as annoying as Lucy.

Also, this was supposedly an enemies-to-lovers type of book, but they were never really enemies. This was just mainly Lucy getting mad and being rude at Zack because of what she thought he thought. She was being so judgemental towards him, this was not the strong and independent woman I was hoping to read about.

I didn't really like the characters, there wasn't that much chemistry between Zack and Lucy, and I feel like the conflict towards the end was just resolved too quickly.

I was really excited for this one because of the description, sadly it didn't live up to my expectations.

Ugh. 2 stars for the smut because it was good but 1 star for the plot because it was such a mess, wtf.

I won't sugar-coat this. This book was boring. I tried so hard to get into the book, but I just couldn't. The writing and dialogue was very child-like and cringey. There's also the occasional use of 'big' words in some places but it just seems off.

1/4 of the book was Roberta basically saying in ten different ways that her and Taylor Reyd can never be anything more than friends, even before they met. Aside from that, a lot of scenes don't make sense and just felt like it was added for the sake of it.

One thing that also annoyed me the most was that Taylor basically invaded Roberta's privacy and stole her manuscript because he was trying to be cautious, I don't even know. He did all that stuff and she was so quick to forgive him, especially with how mad she was when she found out lmao?

And don't get me started with Taylor's mother and ex-girlfriend. They're annoying as heck. Also, the mother's reason for doing all that? She's screwed up.

Anyway, I wasn't into the book at all and basically had to force myself to finish this one.

One In A Billion is the third book in the series, Pierce Brothers, and this one's about the second eldest, Seth Pierce and Veronica Verity. Veronica is a journalist and was one of the candidates for a promotion, unfortunately, the subject she had in mind for her piece is extremely private and doesn't do much interviews. So, she changes her strategy and goes to his office to personally ask for an interview, but the receptionist mistakes her for someone else who was coming in for a job interview, and Victoria ran with it. Let's just say, he found out who she really was after an intensive search and appointed her as his media adviser.

I really liked the portrayal of the characters. I liked how Victoria is not afraid to take risks, which is obvious when she makes a deal with herself wherein if she doesn't get the promotion by the time she turns 30 then she'll quit her job. I also like how down-to-earth and easy-going Seth is. The portrayal of the characters were good, too. Amy was cool and a loyal friend. Pip was a really cool girlfriend, too.

Overall, I liked the book. It's a light and fast read. Although some parts could be improved, it's still a nice book.

Scoring a Spouse is a novel about Erika Parker-Ward, professional athlete, and Nate Simmons, business tycoon. The two enter into marriage of convenience when Nate, who also happens to be a soccer fan, "needs" to marry someone since that's his grandmother's (Oma) dying wish and Erika needs to have private insurance because she has rheumatoid arthritis and she can't use the insurance she has without her team finding out, which she doesn't want, plus she need.

This book is amazing. One of the few things I love about this book is it's the FMC (female main character) who is the famous sports player and the MMC (male main character) is the fan instead, since it's usually the other way around.

Love, love, love the LGBTQ+ rep here. Not only do we have a bisexual FMC, but we also have two lesbian mums, and lesbian and bisexual besties. It always warms my heart to see representation, especially ones that are done correctly. Aside from the LGBTQ+ rep, there's also disability rep (rheumatoid arthritis / RA)!

I love the romance between Erika and Nate. I'm a sucker for marriage of convenience and sports romance. Their relationship is so cute and smooth. Their personalities definitely suited each other. Plus, Erika is such a badass, my gosh!
