A satisfying ending, but easily foreshadowed. I’m disappointed that there is minimal spice. But I’m more disappointed that most of the book, two thirds. Is set up for the grand final twist. Not much happens until the last 40 pages. Just little clues. A very interesting read but a predictable genre with all the warnings of a super great twist posted on the novel. I enjoyed the read and the story building made me feel like I was there but I needed more likable characters to keep me going and everyone was very unlikeable.
This sequel gave me everything I didn’t know I needed. There were a lot of questions I had from the first book and I’m delighted by the complex plot and satisfying conclusion to this book. It sets up more for the rest of the series while also being true to the romantic and quirky parts in the first book. I love the character development through this book and can’t wait to see what happens next. A thrilling book with spice scattered throughout to balance the darker moments. Absolutely in love.
The spice in this book is top notch. The first book teased the possibilities and then this book delivered. The ending felt rushed and I wish there was more of a cliffhanger. I wouldn’t have emotional liked it but it would have had a stronger conclusion then tying everything up in the last two chapters. I liked the resolutions but some I felt would have had more gravity had we waited till the 3rd book. I love the story with Caly and her relationships and I can’t wait to see the dynamics in the next book. I just hope the story isn’t being continued when there is little story left to tell. I hope there is more to discover in the next book and not exclusive spice. I was on the edge of my seat the whole book with the intense and exciting plot there’s one scene in the throne room that makes this book worth the read. A great book series I will enjoy re-reading.
Very creative world building. I loved the original characters but at times noticed we were being reminded of characteristics because they could be forgotten. By the end it was more solidified so I hope the repetition is minimal in future books. It was weird the technology mixed with fantasy elements such as phones and television but through magic. Interesting approaches but overall minor to the incredible story getting set up in this first installment!
I felt completely immersed in the fae world. The plot was tense and thrilling and very enjoyable. Finishing the book made me want more fantasy in my life.
