City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Did not finish book. Stopped at 53%.

The main character is so annoying. She has no personality and is just the basic girl who thinks she's not like other girls because she doesn't wear dresses and makeup. 

The prose is pretty poor. No nice, lovely descriptions or abstract metaphors; everything is really simple and plain. 

I literally care about none of the chatacters. What have they done to make me like them? Be obnoxious? Act cool and mysterious? Is there even any character arc in sight in this book? Who knows? If they all died, I'd probably be relieved. I literally have never felt so cold to any characters in my life. 

I'm the demographic of this series: a teenage girl who likes reading. Did I like this book? No. Would I recommend it? No.
