"luraiden. i felt like his feelings for lucrezia were purely one sided. i felt like he genuinely had feelings for her, and i liked the way he cared for her and treated her, but again, i was just so underwhelmed by it all. idk, i think saverio is still my fav man out of the cora kent get my hands on her book (which i do want to say thank you so much for the arc, i’m very grateful), i think i expected too much, if that makes sense. it felt like the chemistry between lucrezia and raider wasn’t really there, and i just needed more.

lucrezia castiglione is a mafia princess who’s been through nothing short of hell. all she ever wanted was the belong and fit in with her family. she was dealt terrible cards, and i do feel for her. i just wanted more from her if that makes sense. i needed her to fall for raiden so hard. mann, i was just so underwhelmed, like i’m actually so upset that i’m disappointed by her character in her own book after anticipating her story so badly.

and raiden. i felt like his feelings for lucrezia were purely one sided. i felt like he genuinely had feelings for her, and i liked the way he cared for her and treated her, but again, i was just so underwhelmed by it all. idk, i think saverio is still my fav man out of the cora kent books i’ve read thus far.

maybe i'm just a sucker for marriage of convenience, and single dad tropes, but to put them both together AND make it a hockey romance? yes, please! i actually loved this so much, and i didn't expect to cry at all (maybe it's just the hormones, but who knows), then for this to be the first out of the three books I read after GoF that i actually loved?? not to mention the (small, but there) mental health rep??? mhmm

love a marriage of convenience and single dad from infinity to infinity <3 oh and guiliana is probably my fav character from this. love that little 4-year-old.

i’m not usually a horror girly, but this was a good read. it definitely highlighted the real life experiences that us as black women experience, and i was invested while listening to the audiobook, but it was just too much at times--i went from rooting for liz, to having mixed emotions about her. do i recommend? yeah, i do, but ill def stick to my dark and contemporary romances, romantasies, and psychological thrillers...

arc review

"i haven't asked you to be my girlfriend because that term is far too insignificant for what you are to me."
"and what am i to you, noah?"
"you're my everything."

first and foremost, a huge thank you to the author and valentine pr for the arc ! i had the absolute best time reading this. it had so many of my favorite tropes: sports, single dad x nanny, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine, and so on. noah and sabrina's story has actually filled my heart so much, and i loved every relationship and friendship in this story. the flirty, fun banter between noah and sabrina made me laugh and giggle, and their lighthearted chemistry from the start all the way to the end was one for the books. if there's any fictional character i believed stayed together past the epilogue, it's definitely them.

"that's all i want—to be treated like i matter."
"you matter to me."

sabrina howard is so sassy and spunky, i loved her character so much. despite everything wrong that’s happened in her life leading up to her becoming a nanny for a single dad tennis player, she’s a character so full of life and love. and i loved her friendship between alyssa and lucy, and later, her newfound friendship with ebba. the relationship she had with maddie actually made my heart swell a few sizes bigger, and to see her already have bond with that little girl from the moment they met, means everything to me. maddie has already gone through a lot in her little 8 years of life, and to have the maturity that she has, made my heart hurt for her. i feel like she felt that she had to grow up early because she lost her mother, but her maturity and sassiness combined just made her character that much more lovable. “i dare you to text my dad. you should as him on a date.” that little girl was the reason they decided to stop beating around the bush and finally get together, and me personally, i think they should feel forever indebted to her because if it weren’t for her little push, who knows what would have happened between the two of them?? 🤣

“…i can’t seem to quit you.”

noah baker, the single dad, widow, and professional tennis player. been through so much, and ended up being a grumpy a-hole because he didn’t feel deserving of moving on. i truly felt for his character, and for him to find the courage (with the push of some people) to finally open up to sabrina and let her in… >>> let’s give a round of applause ! AND THE MOUTH ON THAT MAN, bc when i tell yall it’s ALWAYS the single dads 🤭 this man done said “you look pretty with my hand around your throat” like???? 😩 then he’s so dedicated to his daughter, despite being so busy that he can’t be there all the time, but the relationship he has with maddie is only one that every little girl should have with their daddy. he dedicated his entire life to his maddie girl, and that only made me (and sabrina) fall deeper in love with him. his character development is like no other, and all i want to know is where can i find one for myself?? he went from being a selfish bastard to being so selfless that he wanted his girl to be happy even if she wasn’t right at his side like omggg 🥹

but i truly did have so much fun with this one, and i can’t wait for it to release so you all can enjoy it as much as i did ! (i’m also going to need book two to be for ebba and fisher and book three to be elias and whimsy, thanks in advance 😘)

“you love me?”
“yeah, pretty girl. i love you.”

"i used to believe i didn't have a soul, but it turns out, i just needed you to fill it up."

i'm not going to lie, with all the hype that everyone gave landon king, specifically, i thought his book would have lived up to his individual hype. don't get me wrong, i did actually love this, but i didn't love it like i expected to. but i love landon and mia together; they are each other's matches, and their love and chemistry helped each other heal in their respective ways.

mia, my mute girl, went through such a traumatic event in her younger years, that caused her to go mute for elevenyears. finding out who wad behind her trauma was so unexpected, and like every other legacy of gods book, i didn't even think to guess correctly. to have landon learn sign language for her without even asking him, and even before they became 'a thing,' was by far one of the best things. he reminded me of my man ryan shay (the right move) in that way, and that made my love for him to grow. mia's friendship with bran is probably my favorite friendship in the series this far, and i loved how he had her back no matter what, and helped her learn things about landon that he wouldn't have probably told her on his own.

"i want your soul, little muse."

landon king. mr. untouchable (because the heathens would lose their gfs lmao) and everyone's favorite. unlike everyone else, he's not my fav (sorry, my cray cray has my heart), but i don't hate him. not one bit. despite his antisocial and narcissistic tendencies, he tried his absolute hardest to be deserving of mia, even when her brother and cousins disapproved of him. even when her twin sister disapproved of him. landon went on numerous suicide missions to be with mia, and that's only admirable in my eyes. he's also a funny character because he quite literally does not give a single fuck, and relishes in everyone's failures LMAO.

anyways, even though this wasn't my fav, i still had a fun time reading this, and i can finally get to my most anticipated in the series, god of fury 😩
