What a fun idea to put together a book with multiple short stories from multiple authors.

So many interesting and unique stories. A variety of feelings. Some stories were really dark, scary and anxious, others were more magical and sad but wholesome. And a few were either insane or a bit too confusing where I couldn't figure things out. They were all really good tho. The title "Dark Fairytales for the Unloved" is a great fit!

I have 2 favorites:
- The Hunter & The Beast by S.D. Paine
Very emotional and mysterious with the years of abuse, the curse/blessing. Beautiful story development, amazing characters. Truly wished for this one to be longer. Loved it!
- The Kidnappings of Tengora by Mehdi Fakhrahmad
Mysterious, an epic journey with insane twists. It was dark and sexual but also very funny imo. Had so much fun reading this unexpected story.

I really enjoyed reading all these stories. Thank you everyone !

This story has GREAT tension and longing with its forbidden romance.

Tropes: Politics, Forced marriage, War, Assassins, Forbidden love, Multiple cultures and Dragons.

The Dragonia people also have magic but wasn't really displayed in this book. I hope book 2 will show more of that.

What I loved the most is the tension due to the Forbidden Love and the Forced Marriage. It was really painful but oh so good. I was captivated by it.

The story is very well written with great characters. Really love Nienna, Kallius, Sythe and Greaves. Good developments and lovely immersive scenery.

I was hoping for more action and less repetitive sayings about their forbidden situation. It was a bit too slow paced for my interest.

The end? ugh I dont like a big cliffhanger especially if its only the last chapter with a drastic twist. I also believe miscommunication is a part of ending that way. And I don't like that trope much. 😅

There's a lot of promise for book 2 so I am really looking forward to it!

Overal it was a nice read with great elements that captivates you.

I truly enjoyed the dark setting of this book. It is so twisted but oh so good and fun to read.
It had great tension and NCN spice. Axe is the perfect dark bookboyfriend. Much love for him!
It made it a very interesting and captivating read. Loved the character development a lot!

The plot was less special to me. I didn't like the everyday life stuff that much. It wasn't that interesting for me. The assassin vibe could have been more present as well but that might still happen in book 2. I also didn't like our FMC that much. but Axe and his brother was fun! The characters and the story is well written.

I am curious what will happen next so I can not wait to read book 2!

A very emotional and beautiful story with great elements: real life struggles, love, marriage, psychological display, self-discovery, love language, kink exploration and spice.

I love how it was so real. Reading from both perspectives made it complete.

The spice in this book is amazing. It really fits so well. It is a book with a great balance of plot development and spice. I really enjoyed it. I had lots of fun reading them exploring new things, going on this journey together to make it work again. Beautiful!

Great work Katie!

The story in general and the writing is really good. Loving the setting and the characters.
but the the pacing is way too slow for my taste. The development is also really repetitive which makes it kinda boring. I feel like book 1 and book 2 could have been 1 book with better pacing and less going back and forth. I hope book 3 will be better in this regard.
