Schwarz wie Erde by Ursula Poznanski

I loved every second of reading the book. Fiona Rule captures the eerie atmosphere perfectly and the history of the East end and particularly Dorset Street keep on giving.
When you find yourself in London one day I highly recommend walking through the Eat End during the day and then gain later in the evening. The difference is shocking and sometimes you might think that around the corner jack the ripper awaits you.

I loved every second of it. And despite having read the book a few years ago, I did not remember who the killer was. Only when a certain situation occurred, it came back to me^^ I have to say its probably the same page when I figured out the killer the first time too. Which is far into the last third. That's pretty late for me. Therefore it gets five stars because I couldn't figure it our too early :-D

I love Beckett's scientific explanations. They are sometimes gross but that's the job. I'm fascinated with this work and I even considered becoming an anthropologist when I was younger. Well, that has changed but I can still be some kind of one if I accompany David Hunter to his work. I cannot wait to read the other books :-)

Fitting to finish this book on the first day of the new Hogwarts school year.
It's again just perfect. Returning to Hogwarts feels like coming home ❤️
I like it that there are so many hints to the end of true series and I bet that Dumbledore learned in the end that Harry is a Horcrux. He must've known it ever since then!
Off to the third year now, my personal favourite in the whole series

Five stars but my least favourite of the HP books together with the next one.
The characters are again great and the two big sporting events are awesome.
But I don't like bits and pieces that add up then to make this one my least favourite.
I hate Cornelius Fudge, who couldn't, especially in the end. it becomes pretty obvious that he has no backbone and basically is afraid of everything. I hate Crouch Sr. I just do.
And Hermione goes on my nerves with her stupid B.elfe.R. I have more understanding for Ron and his jealousy of Harry than her.

I like the idea of different wizard schools and I love both their concepts very much.
The triwizard tournament takes too long for me and the passages between the different tasks are too long, at least for me.

But the book captures perfectly the darker tone. Harry gets older and the threat of Voldemort becomes stronger. For the first time, we learn that he dreams of Voldemort and can see what he does. I think this shows, at the very beginning of the book, that the tone is changing and the darkness is spreading.
