I am really liking this book but I'm going to have to find the physical copy. I was listening on audio and the narrator makes no effort to change her voice between characters and I kept getting so confused in conversational scenes.

No spoilers but take a shot every time you encounter a variation on the word "scrape".
I loved this book--as I expected to. I'm continuously amazed at the way Emily Henry and other authors like her find a way to use well-loved tropes without falling into cliche territory.

A Likely Story takes place in the New York literary scene and Isabell Manning--the daughter of an iconic, wildly famous author, is working hard to get her first novel published and it's not coming to her as easily as she--or anyone else, would have imagined.
The plot itself is quite simple--which just makes space for the incredible character development! That is where Leigh McMullan Abramson really shines with this

Anyone who's keeping track has probably noticed that my most favorite books are about family dynamics and that's definitely what drew me to A Likely Story. The characters--not all of them lovable, feel so real. Because I felt like I knew these characters, I was rooting for each of them.
I finished this book three days ago and I still keep thinking about it. I feel like these people are my friends that I wish I could check in on.

I wish this book was about 100 pages longer. I loved the characters—even when they did unlikable things, I could still appreciate them.

This book felt like if Loot (the Apple TV show) and The Dutch House had a lighthearted baby.

This book pulled me out of a late-winter slump when everything sucks. This book grabbed me from the first two pages and never let me go.
