I was incredibly excited for the second book in the series, duology?  But NOTHING prepared me for the master piece Lockwood has given us.

We start off right in the action. Percy is up to his shenanigans and Sweet Joe is along for the ride, making everything harder than it needs to be.  The story grabs you by the collar, shoved you in a seat and takes you on a wild ride. But damn is it a good one.

We get some exciting paranormal adventures, ghosts, zombies, the likes. We get Leo and Althea!  I was so glad to see them again. And of course, we’re finishing what we started in the first book.

Joe and Percy’s love, I want a love like that. We really get to see just how far they would go for each other and how true their bond is. If there is ever a thing as soulmates, it’s them, no hesitation.

The spice is just as good as the first book. But let me tell you there is a church scene that left me feeling unholy just for reading. It was beyond hot. Maybe one of the hottest I’ve read in a while. Along with the ‘I’m your God’ scene. Lockwood tried to kill me with the heat this book is packing.

This is absolutely a must read and takes a top spot for the year. I really hope the series continues, I need more of these men in my life

So in the beginning I wasn’t sure this was the book for me. I struggled with the pacing a bit the writing style. Which was absolutely a me thing. But I am so so glad I carried on.

This book was so original. A priest and an art historian fall in love?  There’s zombies??  Kick ass side characters??? Amazing. Definitely a premise I haven’t read before and I give hella points for the originality.

This has some great tropes, virgin, insta love, adventure (I’m making it a trope ok) touch him and 💀. Just to name a couple.

I love Percy. Like he’s the most chaotic charming man and he has Joe enraptured, god aside. They compliment each other in such a beautiful way. How grounds Percy and Percy shows Joe the life he can live and enjoy.

The spice level is nice, and it’s written so very well. I’m mean the first 10 pages and you’re in. It’s wonderful. But it doesn’t over take the story, which I greatly appreciate. There is a mild cliffhanger as we wait for book 2, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Overall great book, love the excitement and the originality. This is definitely a you need to read kind of book.
