This book is as amazing in every aspect. World building(that wasn’t confusing), character development, character growth, fight to the death games, romance, magic… everything. This book had me turning the pages so fast. I will be Reading the next one as soon as possible

I was chosen to ARC read for this book and it was so fun!
The story follows our heroine who is on the run, hiding her powers from a magical society. Pretty quickly she is caught and forced to go to a magical a school. It was so fun to see her make friends and grow alliances. A dark force threatens the school and she has to fight to save the people she originally hated.
My only disappointment with this book is that I felt the kids at the school were way to trusting of our heroine immediately. She never had to prove herself to them. She shows up to this school and everyone is automatically ready to fall on their swords for her. I felt like if she had to do something to prove herself upon arriving at the school then it would have been more believable.
But overall this story was so much fun and I really enjoyed the good vs evil trope!

I really enjoyed this. While I don’t know the original phantom of the opera, this book was haunting. The first half does move a bit slow, but it is so interesting I pushed through. And I’m glad I did. The connection between Emeric and Isda is mesmerising and heartbreaking. I never cry at books and this one had me in tears in multiple parts.
