The Escape Room by Megan Goldin

I was interested in the escape room because I read 'The Night Swim' by the same author, I had pretty high hopes. TNS kept me on my seat the entire time I read the book. With that in mind, I was intrigued enough to finish but wouldn't reread.
The story follows in present and past, I am an accountant so the characters intrigued me because we're in the same realm. I can understand the wanting to get revenge when your career gets blacklisted. I just thought it was too strung out. After a while, it became pretty clear what direction the plot was going. It also really didn't the characters a chance to experience the "escaping" of an escape room when all of the clues never really lead to anything. I would have been more invested in learning more about The Circle. Quick read, expected turns taken.

Girls with Bright Futures by Tracy Dobmeier, Wendy Katzman

I read this book in a day, once it started, I couldn’t put it down. I loved it and was not expecting some of the twists in the storyline. These girls, they do have bright futures but they could also be easily ruined by some of the actions from their parents. Read this book, you will not regret it.

Slow burn with great chemistry until the last 50 pages where the drama subdues and everything is fixed. Yay!
I thought Bonnie could be obnoxious, a whole lot of personality is a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I would love a friend like Bonnie because I know it would be genuine. However, doomsday or the highway isn't really how I roll.
I, of course, knew it was about a Scotland lad. Maybe because I'm obsessed with Ireland and Scotland, it doesn't matter. It's a charming book, it doesn't reflect itself on anymore more than that and I appreciate it. 4 stars, worth a read if you're looking for a bit of romance. Remind me that it's shelved so I can reread when it rains. I love the rain and love a good romance centered around the rain.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

Anything by Dickens is considered a classic, right? I had this whispered into my ear for 3 hours by Hugh Jackman and it made it all even better. It never fails, every December 1st, I reread A Christmas Carol. And every year, it only reminds me how much I miss out by not reading more classics throughout the year.
If you want to get in the Christmas cheer or the classics, I recommend starting here. The story in itself is easy enough and it's a beautiful story.
