Having now read Backman’s entire fiction backlog, this was good but definitely not one of my favourites. I think this book would be more impactful for readers who have personal experience of loved ones with dementia.

This was a re-read fir the millionth time. Forgot how slow the start is, but still adore this book. My go-to duology to pick up whenever I need to drag myself out of a reading slump.

I did really like the concept of this book and I enjoyed reading it, but I didn’t love the prose. I’m not sure if that’s an issue with the translation or the original text, but I wish the prose had just flowed a little more than it did.

I didn’t expect to enjoy this book as much as I did, but I was sobbing by the end. I do think this book is much more valuable for white Australians to read, it may be rehashing some already well known subjects for any people of colour, particularly for anyone with a Southern Asian background, that could be very triggering.

Was excited going into this, but didn’t enjoy it. The concept is so fun but all of these stories felt underedited and unfinished.

I enjoyed this book but I did wish that there was a little more focus on the historical aspect, I wasn’t so interested in the comparison with modern statistics.
