I was expecting to enjoy this book, but I did not predict how much I was going to feel for it. The last 100 or so pages really hit me in the gut and  made me feel so many things. I also experienced the desire to throw the book across the room (and it's been a long time since I've had that desire). That, however,  was not because it was bad but because the author did an excellent job at making the reader feel a very palpable rage that was certainly the intent. Anyway I'm screaming! This was great, now I'm just pissed that I have to wait for book two.

I have been very much in the mood for good Greek Myth retellings and this turned out to be a really good one. It doesn't quite follow the interpretation of the Medusa myth that I prefer, but in spite of that I really loved it. I appreciate the message of the story. I'm also surprised to find that I also appreciate the author giving us both the perspective of Medusa and that of Perseus. It added an unexpected emotional impact for me as a reader. Definitely one I would recommend.

This was stunning. I had really hoped that I was going to love this book because it sounded perfect for me and it was!

A lot of comparison has been done between this and Circe by Madeline Miller and I see why. The writing had a beautiful, lyrical quality to it that gives it that ancient feel which works so well for a greek myth retelling. This is also, just overall an excellent take on this story.
