I will admit the beginning was a little slow but then I just couldn’t stop reading. This book hooked me and got me even more excited than I was before for the next books. I think this might be my favourite in the series so far.

Not my favourite volume but there’s been a big gap of time in between me reading volumes which doesn’t help.

This still kind of felt a bit like a filler volume but there was more substance than the last volume.

This felt like a filler volume more than anything which resulted in this not hitting the same.

Not my favourite introduction to a series but I liked it enough to continue.

After finishing this volume I just want to binge read the series. I can definitely see myself getting more into it that way instead of having a good chunk of time in between volumes.

I’ve being watching the movie at least once every year or so for I don’t know at least ten years. And while I enjoyed the book the movie really just does it for me. I would recommend reading this though and can see myself re-reading it in the future.

A good time but I would have liked for it to be a bit longer and go into more detail.

The beginning had a slow start but it picked up in the second half. Unhinged characters are my favourite thing. I loved seeing Ji-won unravel and become more unhinged. The men in this were so disgusting that you can’t help but to root for her. The descriptions as well were so good. This was an amazing debut.

Sadly, the beginning is what’s keeping this from being a favourite for me. But, I’m looking forward to picking up more books by Monika Kim in the future.

I did also find out that if food is described well enough no matter what is also in the food I will still get hungry… which I definitely could write an essay about that statement.

P.s. if you liked this you’ll probably like Chlorine by Jade Song.

I like the premise for this but I didn’t like the execution. I didn’t feel anything for the characters and kept waiting for them to get fleshed out.
