The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling
2.0
2.5 Stars. If it were just an actual wizarding storybook with more stories inside, I would have given it 5 stars. I really did love the actual tales! However, the meta-meta narrative egocentric commentary by Albus Dumbledore really put me off and pulled me out of the whole flow of reading.
A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Writings by Charles Dickens
3.0
People told me that if I wanted to start reading dickens, this was a good place to start. Of course I went into this wanting to read the actual "a Christmas Carol". I ended up enjoying The story about the Christmas tree (so magical!!) and "Christmas as we grow older" a lot more! Can't wait to read more by Dickens.
Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy

I must have been the only person who is into books that didn't know anything about this book's plot other than that it is about a woman called Anna and there is adultery involved. My preferred way of reading a book, really.
This book was hard to read for me, in a good way. I was shocked to feel like I was reading about my past self. Many of Anna's intense emotions and paranoia I have unfortunately also experienced. I completely understood her and only had compassion for what she was going trough.
If I knew beforehand what Anna's outcome would be, honestly, I would have not have read this book, but I am so so glad I did. It reminded me why I kept fighting, and that things really -can- get better.
