The only reason this book received four stars from me is because of the conflict between Beckett and Ella. I understand being upset that he lied about who he actually was, but he was still there. He adopted her kids. He left the military. He gave her daughter insurance that, in turn, saved her life. He had proved time and time again that he loved her and would be there always. I believe Ella overreacted. She focused on one single lie and ignored all of the other wonderful things he had done. She forgot that Ryan was his brother too. I understand she has some unresolved issues with lying, but Jesus, give a guy a break. It just felt a little blown out of proportion. Other than that, I can’t remember the last time a book made me cry four times in the first fifty pages.
