I really enjoyed this book. It's a reliable story that made for a good read. It has good romance an exciting plot and brilliant characters. Not to mention I quite enjoyed the smut.

The only thing I don't really get is the new book trend of putting a playlist at the start (that is just a random thing I don't like though and isn't important at all.) I really loved the amazing minor characters because they made the story enjoyable the whole way through. (Sophie made for some great fun in the book.)

The main characters, Noah and Maya, have a suspenseful slow burn romance. I thought this book was very well paced making it exciting. Did I mention the great smut?

Very good ending to the story. I literally can’t wait for the next book. Sophie and Liam were introduced really well in this book and are both enjoyable to read about.

I did really enjoy reading some parts of this book but there were a few issues that I just couldn’t get past to give it a higher star rating. It has some great romance, some exciting plot moments and some hot smut but it just wasn’t quite right for me. I found that this book was very similar to Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.

Aubrey starts off as a really cool character. She's sassy and badass but she is clearly carrying around trauma which gives her an edge of mystery that pulled me in. My main issue with her character was that she is seen as special because she’s “not like the other girls” which is a trope I personally can’t stand. Dax is your typical “extremely hot brooding man” character in the start but if the trope ain’t broke, don’t fix it. He does become a very developed character as the book continues and I loved his story.

The start of this book was very fast paced and exciting but it definitely suffered from a slow and uneventful pre-climax section but it picked up again to have a good ending. It was perhaps a tad predictable in places but, let's face it, we come to romance books for the characters and not so much the unexpected plots so this wasn’t a big issue for me.

I really like split POV books where you get to know all the characters from one main perspective before it splits into dual POV. Despite the fact this story is mainly told from Audrey’s POV she doesn't have much development, she's cool from start to finish so it’s mainly the story of Dax’s improvement.

I enjoyed the romance and the book as a whole, I just think it could have lost some of the slow pre-climax plot and had some more fleshed out side characters. That would have made it an easy 4 starts, maybe more. I can’t wait to see what Katelyn Taylor comes up with in the future!
