The Sweetest Oblivion by Danielle Lori

This was such an easy read! The plot goes the exact way you think it is going to and they have their little happy ending after a lil bit of chaos obviously caused by a lack of communication between the two main characters. But yeah it was cute enough, not the craziest or darkest mafia romance i've ever read

Men are disgusting, and I hate them.

I genuinely don't know what to make of this book. It was grim and disturbing and I hated every minute that I was reading, and yet it was compelling and spoke volumes about our society and culture.

Absolutely stunning! I'll admit I was a bit hesitant in the beginning because of how quickly things moved, I didn't think it would work out too well but I was wrong! I'm actually glad that things were quicker in the beginning and then slowed down because it really helped me feel immersed in the story.
I'm so glad that I've already got the second book to jump straight into

I don’t think I enjoyed the second book as much as the first, but I find that every time with a series the second book is never as good as the first because it’s just more or less all set up for the end of the series. It did have some really cool moments though near the beginning, and kept being interesting until the last 50 or so pages when you could tell that it would be left on a massive cliff hanger.

This one was a lot more to take in mentally too because it felt like every character had backstory occur in this book, a lot of it that wasn’t too necessary either, or only relevant so that it could explain a characters choice later on.

Some of the twists were really good and I didn’t see coming, but my god Isolde is annoying as fuck most of the time. There seems to be so much emotional back and forth for no reason with her character, it just annoys the shit out of me. Not to mention how much of a push over Adrian can be, like for no reason.

Hopefully in the next book things will progress a lot better and we will finally learn more about the goddesses and magic itself, instead of the battles and hating on men constantly

I wasn't really expecting too much from this, the description sounded good but at the same time like it might be tedious and drag all of the key moments out but nope! The pacing was amazing and the chapters were so short it was a breeze to read. There also wasn't any moments when the book got boring, the author was able to pepper in enough mysteries and exciting moments to keep the book moving.

I also loved the two main characters Jase and Kazi. Normally i only like one of the characters and the other is a let down, which is usually to allow for character development, but i felt like both of these characters had already been fleshed out entirely.

Love love love!!! will for sure be doing a re-read of it at some point

i listened to this on Scribd instead of reading it physically and i don't have a clue what actually happened most of the time other than they were constantly arguing, plotting, and then fucking... meh

Absolutely stunning omg. I loved every moment of this book and couldn't put it down for the life of me. This one had way higher stakes than the first which made it all the more emotional to read, and watching all of the characters grown was amazing. I seriously wish that there was a third book following them after all that went down, even if it was only a small winter special or something like in acotar

This was an incredibly lyrical and beautiful book! There was a lot of touchy subjects included throughout which really added depth to the narrative and to each of the characters themselves. The only thing was that i found it harder to read than most books, but i think it was because it read like a bit like a classical story (think romeo and juliet), but that in itself added to the narrative that the story unfolding could have been in the codex that her father had, or any of the stories that the main character liked to mention. It being harder to read also meant that i had to focus on what i was reading and take every little detail in which really helped when all of the magical elements were being described...
The only thing i didn't like too much was how predictable it was, but then again aren't all fairy tales predictable?

10000000000% i get the hype for this series now!! i cant believe i finished this book in one sitting. admittedly i did skip quite a lot of the dialogue when it got a bit boring or repetitive, and there were a couple issues i had with it, mostly with how annoying all of the characters were being, but im reading the second book now and already its better and the characters are growing a lot...
