The saddest book I have ever read. This truly is the story of a little life. SO much character development. I plan on reading it again.

One of my favourite books. The setting, the atmosphere and the general feelings of eeriness is disturbingly enticing.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
Extremely slow, character driven but I found to be no character development which is what I look for in a book. Was too excited to read other books! Wouldn’t be opposed to reading another Eve Babitz.

Was really interesting to learn more about Chinese cuisine. Got a big repetitive and slow by the end.
