I just can’t get past the secret reveal at the start of the book. To have that happen really put me off continuing, even though I really like the writing style of this author. It does bum me out a bit because last year I did purchase this book (although from a used book charity sale). I think the only plus side here is that I have one less book on my physical TBR.
I buckled and started to read this after hearing people rave about it on TikTok and Instagram. I just didn’t click with this after 50 something pages. I think I would have continued if this wasn’t over 500 pages. I also don’t like a cocksure hero at the best of times, but a contemporary about hockey players isn’t it for me; especially in light of recent developments in the junior world hockey sexual assault allegations.
This is a fun and sometimes informative look at personal finance. I honestly though could have done without the reference to cryptocurrencies; I don’t think anyone with a brain should be touching those things.
Although this book isn’t life changing and some of the stuff is pretty simple, it is displayed in a digestible and interesting way.
